What a beautiful place! My first impression was that this was a great place for families (and pets). Lots of outdoor activities for children, as well as a golf course for adults. The home had an interesting history, but was not spectacular. The grounds contained...More

Loved seeing the Mansion house and the gardens. There is a lovely tea room where you can get some nice food. Also, highly recommend the walk up Tarvit Hill. Be aware of the sheep if you bring your dog :)

Lovely visit here, enjoyed touring this house very much. The kitchens, scullery and outside laundry house were all extremely well done and really interesting. As ever all done in the high standard set by NT. The house retained a very homely feel with beautiful views...More

Amazing house. The original manor house was purchased to house the owners' collection of art, furnishings etc. but decided it didn't really suit so he had the house demolished and rebuilt (by a member of the famous Lorimer family as architect) to suit the collection....More

We very much enjoyed our visit to Hill of Tarvit, which offers an interesting overview of life "Upstairs, Downstairs" during the Edwardian period. Each room has its very own character, and we specially appreciated the elegant guest bedroom upstairs. The French-style salon on the ground...More

We visited house in a nice sunny afternoon and we were amazed..There was a feeling like suddenly you get back in time. The house is full of items from beginning of 20th century. Easily you can imagine your self as lady or lord from Downtown...More

We've been National Trust members for years now and must have seen a good number of the properties but this really stands out as one we'll be hurrying back to. The house is gorgeous, as are the grounds and gardens but for a family visit...More
