We walked to the castle from East Linton and on arrival were impressed by how well kept the place was and how peaceful the castle and grounds felt. It was great to visit somewhere that was free but well maintained. Would like to have had...More

Hidden away is this beautifully sited ruined castle, incorporating a fortified manor. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here before her third marriage. Admission is free ....... another great Heritage Scotland site. Parking limited.

Took youngsters to roll eggs. A wonderful day out and a lovely place to visit. Fascinating ruins in a beautiful location on the river bank, well worth a visit. Only limited parking on a narrow road.

An idyllic spot overlooking the river. Free entry to an amazing ruined castle. Lots of nooks and crannies. A great place to have a picnic and let the kids explore. Hide and seek would be great fun here.
