As NT members and regular visitors to Kingston Lacy, we rate it as one of the NT top properties, a beautiful atmospheric house set in lovely grounds. That said on this visit we were somewhat surprised and left questioning the appropriateness of their current exhibition...More

I did the country walk enjoying the variety of views, trees, various gardens and quaint secluded patches. House,of course, well cared for showing valuable historical paintings, furniture and extras. Staff ,like body guards, proved to be very helpful when approached. How do they stand up all day ? I...More

The gardens here are always good any time of year. The house is an exceptional one of its type and should not be missed. The stables cafe is OK for a snack but do not expect a full meal. It helps either to be a...More

We returned to Kingston Lacy for another visit. This time we took friends with us. It is a great house with a fascinating history. The gardens were good as were the catering facilities. We thought however that the current exhibition was an inappropriate venture for...More

A very interesting visit. In addition to the fabulous paintings and furniture there was a thought provoking exhibition concerning William John - the exiled member of the Bankes family who had to flee the country or face hanging for homosexual acts.

Swung by en route to the West Country - been before - thought provoking, temporary, rope display in the entrance hall (representing execution by hanging for homosexuality ) and encompanying exhibition - both creative and humbling .........

Beautiful house manned by volunteers,so many beautiful pieces of art ,and many other historical pieces to see. However the lighting was quite dim and disabled access non existent on the upper floors ,which was a shame .

Timed tickets so don't dawdle when you arrive - get your house tickets. Lovely house but quite a number of steps to climb. Bought a nice practical bird house from the shop.

From our arrival myself and my friend found the staff most unhelpful. The lady in the cafe seemed intent on being unreasonable with any requests. After a trip round the house and grounds we came back to the cafe for lunch but was told that...More

Hi. I am not aware of any public transport options. It is on the road from Wimborne to Blandford, so there could be a bus from Poole. Sorry I could not be any more helpful.
