Highly recommended

Even though the place is very small, the 3 volunteers today (1st of Aug) made it really interesting and we felt we have a picture of how life was there in this place. Thanks to the guides and to national trust

Step back in time
Jul. 2021
When visiting you must pre-book due to civic as the property is tiny but very quaint and simplistic. The guide leading you up to the property was very knowledgeable and was a joy to listen to him as he knew so much information, how these guys retain so much information is bewildering. We started off by going into the bike shed while the other people in our group went inside the property. The bike shed has some great information regarding T E lawerance and even though I am not a fan and knew little about him,I found the information boards and guides a delight. Inside the property you will find one guide upstairs and one down both of whom provide an insight into the great man. The gramaphone itself is made out of paper mache and was the biggest of its kind I have every seen,t e lawerance lived a minimalist life style and you will see and hear this when visiting. The guide at the beginning of your told us where to find his grave which is in s village called Morton and we'll worth back visit to see,for those who wish to know, the grave is situated right at the back of the cemetery with a large head stone so can't be missed and was very grateful for the guide telling bud where to find it.

What a life
Jun. 2021
This is the second time we have visited hear but this time we had a guide accompany us who gave us a great talk and also advice on where to visit to see Lawrence' grave and the church where the service took place. You have to book online in advance of your stay but something must be wrong with the system as they didn't have me down on the list, they were however good about it

Lovely little cottage
Jun. 2021 • Family
This is a stunning little cottage in Wareham. It's good value for money. There are a few volunteers who give you a tour of the 4 rooms in the cottage. I would highly recommend booking in advance due to current restrictions as the tickets go quickly. You get a 1 hour slot to view, 2 people can look upstairs and 2 downstairs at the same time to ensure social distancing. It is important that you arrive on time for your slot. Dogs are welcome in the gardens. It was fascinating to hear more about Lawrence of Arabia.

Quaint
Jun. 2021
An isolated cottage with few home comforts set in the countryside and lived in, until he died, by Lawrence of Arabia. It doesn't take long to go round and the volunteers are very helpful. He was obviously rather eccentric with the decor and layout emphasising this. Well worth a visit and also a walk around the surrounding land.

Fascinating
Oct. 2019
Fortunately, the National Trust managed to acquire this property unscathed and so you can see what it was like when TE Lawrence lived in the house up until his death (just down the road).

It is a small property with a garage and you can see how he did some modifications (some of which are Heath Robinson in nature) to make it more comfortable. The guides are very helpful and it is well kept and maintained and definitely worth a visit (you can go and see the two memorials down the road and also his grave in nearby Moreton).

Well worth the trip

Super cottage with very well-informed volunteers. Amazing to see the way his life was so different after the film world. Good to see his day bed where he read whilst light and then the purpose-made chair so he could read in the evenings. Even has the spade outside to show there was no toilet then!

Fascinating place to visit
Sep. 2019
Amazing place with a lot of artefacts to see in the house. Stairs are very steep so not easily accessible for everyone. Very interesting to walk round the cottage which is now in the hands of the National Trust. T.E. Lawrence rented the cottage from 1923 and after the war he bought the it and completely renovated it.
