"They have the monopoly" is becoming a tired excuse for restaurants (café's realistically) to charge more money in remote areas but the eating establishment inside Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens takes the mickey a bit. To pay £3.95 for a single sandwich in a bag, dated as...More

An enchanting place to wander with an outstanding and very interesting collection of plants. Great views up and down the coast from the Magnolia Walk.

A grossly overpriced entrance fee not justified by the quality of the garden, which on our visit was shabby and unkempt with murky, lifeless ponds, dead leaves everywhere and plants badly in need of a tidy up. The restaurant added insult to injury - we...More

Spent a good couple of hours here. Amazing variety of sub tropical trees, bushes and plants. Good cafe ( pity the staff had no sense of urgency and initiative in serving customers). Wide selection of unusual plants for sale with very knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff.

The gardens are surprisingly enjoyable, plenty of interesting plants, viewpoints, bridges etc to explore. Worth a walk up the hill to the view of Chesil Beach. However the so-called restaurant doesn't really live up to the rest of the garden. Firstly, it's just a standard...More

Visited yesterday (12 June ‘18). The gardens are always worth a visit. This year we went to have some lunch and then walk around the gardens. That was a mistake. We should have stopped for lunch on the way. I’m not a fussy eater. The...More

It doesn't matter how many times you visit there is always something new to discover. The gardens are very well laid out. There is something to see at every turn. The Victorian garden was my favourite. We also had the pleasure, if that's the right...More

This garden probably doesn’t need more recommendations but don’t miss it, a glorious spot. Don’t skip the (steep) walk up to the viewing point over Chesil beach, well worth the climb.

Went with coach party early June 2018. Enjoyed what I saw of the gardens, but had to spend most of my time with a member of the group whose mobility scooter could not cope with the " wheelchair route". My husband was a wheelchair user...More

Sorry I cant remember but it is on their website. You can buy a combined ticket and go on different days and even go to one of them twice if you dont want to go to the Pet and Farm centre.
