beautiful place to walk/cycle. lots of shaded areas. drink for the dig is advisable. there is a lot of dog poo left by bad dog owners but otherwise well worth a visit

When searching for 'things to do' near Okehampton, I stumbled upon The Granite Way and the reviews were great, and now I know why! We hired our bikes from the lovely, helpful, people at Devon Cycle Hire, which is on the route, at about the...More

Did the full cycle ride from Okehampton station to Lydford on a weekday (when it is quieter). It's about an 18 mile round trip, so allow a couple of hours if doing the full length. Easy fairly level cycling/walking with some great views to either...More

Lovely walk rain or shine, beware bikes going very fast! Holiday times it gets congested with walkers, bikes and dogs, so instead of a quiet stroll it's a dogem race track Having said all that choose your time to go and take in some of...More

We often take a quick walk up the Granite Way. It is a great place for an interesting stroll, path is comfortable, with stopping places on the way. Over a weekend you will come across a number of cyclists, but that doesn't seem to cause...More

Off road old railway track which can be followed all the way from Okehampton to Yelverton. Being on old railway line means inclines are hardly noticeable, only realise how much you've climbed on the way back downhill! Brilliant for families looking for safe cycling. Views...More
