We agree entirely with what other reviewers have said: excellent. We used this as an introduction before visiting several more wineries in Devon and Cornwall - Sharpham, Knightor, etc - during our week in the West Country.

Great welcome from our host who gave great history and background to English wine. Wonderfully down to earth explanation of the method the pitfalls and process that goes into making what is absolutely sensational wine. We were able to learn the technique and practicality of...More

I've just read the ' terrible' review left on trip advisor after visiting the winery and I cannot disagree more. This is a small business not a large mechanised factory. I've seen both and to be honest small is better. The owner told us his...More

Out of season on a cold wet December day, and I was the only visitor. No tours (would you want one on such a day?) but I was treated to a knowledgable discussion on their wines, and some insights into running an English vineyard. Descriptions...More

A bit difficult to get to, especially if it's in Autumn/Winter time, due to the very narrow and single-track country roads. But when you arrive, you'll find a knowledgeable and helpful viniculturist (wine grower / producer) who seems like a member of the family, rather...More

Two hours of great explanations of the process by Hillary. Lovely wine .Worth a visit but don't follow sat nav ring for directions. Not a touristy place (no food or coffees etc) which was great ...no pressure to buy . Just enjoy.

Thanks for your question - I assume that you are considering joining a tour? Dogs are allowed in the vineyard but not when the tour enters the winery. Then they may either be tied up outside or left in the car, as long as... More
