Brixham Heritage Museum was delighted to be awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015, the third year running, thank you all for making this possible! We were also joint winners of the Family Friendly Museum Award in 2013,despite nationwide competition. We offer a choice of activities which are suitable for a variety of ages, and we hold many 'special days' both within and outside of our Museum. There are opportunities to become amateur archaeologists, no matter how young, and many other "hands-on" experiences are found on both floor levels inside the building. For all visitors there are a variety of displays ranging from the prehistoric to the 1950s, with particular emphasis on the maritime industry of the area. We also offer Family History Research for all areas, and hold regular talks and social activities. For further information please view our website.

The museum is situated in the old police station. It rambles over two floors and has much to offer. Entry is free but donations are welcome. The museum, through a series of displays, covers all things Brixham past and present. The displays are traditional but there...More

Very old fashioned and lacking any real history of ww1 and ww2, Many in RN. In ww1 and what about dunkerk and Dday etc. Shame as I'm sure the voluntary workers put in a lot of time and effort. The battery museum is far more...More

If you go Brixham the chances are you might not start far from the marina, but this museum is worth finding. Not a big place, but very enjoyable. On a rainy day it amazes me that people would rather stand in an amusement arcade than...More

Been to worse Museums than this and had to pay. Very very interesting and the staff, whom I assume are volunteers, are friendly, charming, and knowledgeable. Crammed with exhibits and the William of Orange room a must. Loved it

We always like to visit local museums and this one is outstanding and free. They recommend a donation of £2.50 per person which we paid as the museum is well worth it. Good exhibits from times gone by.

Thank you for your kind review. We pride ourselves on ensuring that all our guests have a lovely experience of the museum. The museum itself is funded on donations to stay open for another year. So your kind donation was greatly received. Thank you.

A lot is presented as a literal guide the Brixham's history but the whole experience is fascinating, covering such a wide span of the town's past, it is thoughtfully put together from prehistory through to the last train out. A great place to spend time...More
