Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beach was nice. It was clean and easily accessible by car. However, at 4pm on a December afternoon, the water wasn't crystal clear as promised. I feel like the saturation has been boosted on a lot of the photos.

Gorgeous, white sand and incredible scenery... fortunately we happened on a sunny day so we could appreciate the beautiful colors. Approaching the beach there are two parking lots, you can get to the closest to the beach and if it should be full fall back on the other that is still very close. If you are in the area and the weather is nice it is worth visiting!

Despite it being an incredibly cold and blustery autumn day, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Walking on the sand is amazing as it is so white, so clean and also flat so less likely to trip. I can only imagine how beautiful this is on a sunny, warm day.

Great beach and sea swimming. But beware no lifeguard and poor road access for volume of traffic trying to get down narrow single track access road to what is free car park. I fear there will be an incident such that emergency services will be unable to attend by road. Such may become a potentially tragic incident. The other beach nearby at Gorteen has similar access issue. Thus avoid.both at busy times. A visit in Winter will do me !

With dog in tow, we spent a few glorious hours on this spectacular beach... which is rated one of Ireland's best. You'll find a vast expanse of white sand and dreamy turquoise waters and little else... just perfect. Without a doubt this was a highlight of our trip to the west coast of Ireland.

While I have to say the shape and location of this beach are great. We were blessed with fine weather in October. We drove over an hour from Salthill to see it. There was huge amaoundlts of seaweed and some rubbish and the water certainly ly wasn't the blues I saw in pics or the sand auper white. More a grayish. Still a lovely beach for Ireland but if the seaweed was cleaned would be amazing. Not sure I'd drive so far to see it again.

Probably a lovely beach but virtually no parking. We had to reverse the whole way back up a long lane to get out. And this was midweek. Would imagine it's very busy at peak times. Would like to return sometime to actually see the beach!

We have been to Dog's Bay on occasions too numerous to count. Every single time we are overwhelmed by its beauty. The long stretch of golden fine sand looks out on a horseshoe shaped bay with a backdrop of dramatic mountainous landscape. Get to the end of the beach and leave the sand behind - a short walk up a little sandy path leads you out on to the peninsula proper - acres upon acres of open grazing land, filled with cows gently gazing at you as you stroll past, a blanket of tiny purple and yellow alpine flowers underfoot. The very end of the peninsula - a good half hour walk, is a scattering of Atlantic battered rocky outcrops - even on a warm summer's day you'll be greeted by a bracing breeze whipping in off the ocean. Sit still long enough and you'll see long ears popping up - there are an abundance of wild hares living on Dog's Bay. It's a truly magical place to visit.

We discovered this beach at the end of our day driving the Wild Atlantic way. In hindsight, we should have driven straight here and just hanged out at the beach.
We arrived here without any beach gear (swim suits, towels etc), but it didn't matter. We were just happy to walk or sit on the gorgeous white sandy beach, play in the crystal clear water and admire the beauty of the landscape. We had only allowed ourselves an hour here, next time we'll make sure that we can spend most of the day to relax at the beach.

Hola voy a estar en Galway a finales de julio y quería saber cómo llegar a la playa de Dog's Bay Beach. No dispongo de vehículo particular. Puedes informarme de las opciones para llegar ahí?

Is there any public transport that takes you to Dog's bay?
Written 17 August 2020
There may be coach trips to bring you close to Dogs Bay. The road down to it is narrow but will suit a car or bike. Did not see any public transport whilst there.

There are lots of B&B's. I don't know about hotel, probably, but I would advise a B&B if you want to meet locals.Or there are plenty of self-catering rental cottages, which are great if you're staying a few days.

We brought our dog in July, and didn't see any signs that dogs weren't allowed.

Ciao a tutti! Vorrei sapere come è possibile raggiungere Dog's Bay Beach da Galway centro se non si possiede un auto! Ci sono mezzi di trasporto pubblici per raggiungerla?
Grazie!
