Nicaragua Market is a small company that offers authentic Nicaraguan goods. We work closely to local artisans and the price you see is a reflection of our fair value after partnering with our artists. When you purchase Nicaragua Market products you are helping to ensure that the trade of local Nicaraguan artistry remains a viable small business.

Spent 1 hr visiting this market on a day trip while staying at Mombacho Lodge outside Granada. Very typical touristy items. Fun to see, but doesn’t require much time. We had a great lunch at a local place inside the market on a corner. Wish...More

The moment we arrived off our big tour bus, we were followed by people trying to get us to shop in particular shops. They would ask what we wanted to buy, and take us past the shops that actually had the goods we wanted, and...More

The market had a lot of different little stalls with inexpensive treasures. It was hard to enjoy because I had an annoying escort would not leave my side. He drove me nuts and I am pretty sure he was getting a kick-back of some kind...More

We ended up here as part of a day tour arranged by our lodge. What a waste of time. After 10 minutes we realized that every vendor sold almost exactly the same junk. With the exception of a few wooden pieces that I recognized from...More

Parking is available on the street however someone is going to charge you about a buck or two to watch your car. This market is about 30 to 50 percent more than the local peoples market which is next to the central bus "station". Some...More

You can find anything the Nicarguan crafts people make. Very nice! You have to bargain!!! Cheaper than buying on more touristy places.

The market in Masaya does not sell any local produce. They sell generic junk all made in China. You can buy the same things in markets like this all over the world. The vendors do not have a clue about what they are selling, for...More

This place is extremely overrated. It might have been good once, but if it were, it is now totally ruined by the bus tours from Granada. As a rule the vendors closest to where the tourist buses stop have the least interesting things and the...More

If you are looking for cheap well made hammocks of all varieties this is your market. Lots of cute handicrafts and not much hassle from the vendors. Good trip to combine with a tour to Masaya volcano.

Seriously, don't bother! We were very disappointed. Just cheap touristy junk. With the possible exception of locally made hammocks, there was not a single thing there I'd want to buy. Masaya is a grubby place and not worth the detour.
