Check their website -- some impressive special exhibits. I drive 50+ miles for their special showings. Love their permanent exhibits too, especially the glass works. Oh, and don't miss the gift shop -- I did a lot of Christmas shopping, including for the overly bright (I can say that? I'm "just" the aunt/great aunt) children on my gift list.

I have thoroughly enjoyed time spent at the KMA. In addition to viewing inhouse art exhibits, I have delighted in the special displays from time to time. One prominent exhibit featured Rodin's The Thinker, which attracted many art patrons. Also, the museum has sponsored special musical programs in the evening called Alive At Five, which featured local musicians. This is... More

My daughter came in from China to visit and we were discussing the museums in other states and countries as to those in our area. We both mentioned how it had been a few years since we traveled to Knoxville to visit the KMA and have lunch...so we went the next day. The exhibits were wonderful, diverse and in properly... More

Have been to a few art shows at the museum is always well maintained with nice showings. Is realitively easy to get to with ample parking options within a short walk.

The KMA has never looked better! Spring exhibits are some of the most interesting & well presented. Permanent exhibits on the upper floor plus the spectacular Richard Jolly Glass wall in the great hall reflect an ever growing collection in size & importance. Free admission makes it a MUST SEE.

We only spent an hour here, but we saw everything there was to see. When we went there was a temporary exhibit by a professor at UT called the Cycle of Life, an excellent contemporary exhibit by a local artist, Jered Sprecher, and the permanent collection, including many impressionist paintings by Catherine Wiley, another local artist, whose painting career ended... This museum was great. I absolutely loved the work of children from the local schools. Each exhibit was admirable. Totally worth a visit especially since it's free.

I get here a few times a year, I love it. They truely have a great little museum. If you're close it's no doubt worth the visit.
