This is where the neighborhood hikes most of the time. There are both long and short trails all over the mountain; some people bring their dogs, but not many.

I didn't expect all the rock climbing. You could not take your eyes off the trail less you fall. I found it not to enjoyable due to the danger aspect. We did it but would not to it again.

House Mountain is a wonderful resource for our area, great views of the surrounding areas. The hiking is good, fairly steep and rocky.

Worth the climb... 2 hours + round trip. Two choices regarding routes to the top.... worth the drive, close for Knox county residents.

We drove up for the afternoon. The roads leading to the parking area were a little creepy. I'm sure the place is fine and it is a beautiful location, but we did not stay long.

This is not an easy hike. It was very enjoyable and the view are fantastic. If you are very out of shape I would not recommend this as your first hike. I also recommend solid shoes and no sandals. Hike when the visibility is good.

It has been a little while since we've been here but we had a great hike when we did go! Plan on going back soon.

This is a cool hike. We ran the sections that we could and walked the steeper/rockier sections. The climbs go up quickly but you are rewarded with beautiful views of the surrounding area in two directions. The trail runs the length of the ridge on...More

It has been several years since I've been there but I'll say yes for older kids but maybe not toddlers!

It depends on your skill level and what shape you are in, but maybe 3 hours without stopping too much around the entire loop. That's assuming you choose to go up one path, cross the ridge, and come down the other path. If... More

Yes it does have steep drop offs, it's a very challenging hike, one of the hardest I have hiked.
