I have never been a fan of Gov. Haslam's plan to turn over the state park system to a private entity but after seeing how little the workers care about the place it's probably for the best. One would think the employees would do their best in order to keep their jobs but the evidence is all around that they do... Harrison Bay State Park has hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and a lot of water to keep any outdoorsy type occupied. The fishing is great too. Crappie, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass are abundant in these waters. Solid camping spots too. Both for RV's, and primitive tent camping.

Amazing views and a very clean campground. Easy to get to, hook up and travel to Chattanooga. Kayaks were easy to launch right from the campsite.

This is a great campground, been through this area many times and finally found it! Camping in C section near the water is beautiful, relaxing, and a great experience in very large sites. Sites are gravel with a picnic table on concrete, sites aren't all level, you may need to make adjustments to level your rig. Lake Chickamauga is a... More

We camped in our RV outside Chattanooga at Harrison Bay State Park last week. The park was great and had many amenities at a low cost (less than $80 w/ tax for 4 nights). We stayed in an RV site right on the water where we could fish right out back. There is a marina, hiking trails and a cafe... More

The park itself is very nice with camping facilities and a banquet hall. It is very clean. I bought a swimming pool pass, and was very happy with the facility until the last couple of weeks when they started allowing people in street clothes, socks, and tennis shoes get into the pool. They have a rules sign posted stating swimming... More

Our camping experience was very pleasant. Some sites near the water are large and some sites are smaller; just go pick your site before registering. We are tent campers and we found two great spots for our needs: C20 and C21 are large and just a few feet from the water. The sites were around $18 with senior discount. The... More

I recently visited Harrison Bay State Park and was really pleased to see that it is a well maintained, very safe State Park with opportunities for day only visits thru overnight camping. There were people of all backgrounds and ages really enjoying the Park.
