Historic downtown Franklin is full of energy, people, great shops and restaurants. It's fun to just stroll and people watch, never know who you might see. There's a local museum that is free, a very helpful visitors center and free 4 hour parking making everything convenient. A short drive from downtown is an old ice packing building that houses many... More

This history enriched town is famous for the civil war but the modern touches to it with all the boutique shops and lots of restaurants make it a great area to just walk downtown and look at all the historic homes and experience everything this wonderful town has to offer

We got into town a bit late, and most places were closed - but, by looks alone - this place seems to be a fun and busy place to visit. We will be back for sure.

Lovely small town atmosphere with shops for all. Plenty of little dinners to choose from. Plan on doing a lot of walking but fun.

What a quaint downtown where the traffic isn't too fast and crowded and they offer free parking! Way to go - that's how you attract people - put away the metered parking.

The town is quaint and fun and especially nice for slow strolls in and out of the boutiques and antique stores. There is no shortage of great eateries both upscale and deli fare..featuring inside and outside dining. The downside to Franklin is parking. Parking is so scarce that twice we drove for over 30 minutes and never found a place... More

I have lived in Franklin for over 20 years and still enjoy learning about the town I live in. My wife and I will frequently take carriage rides or walking tours through the downtown area and into the battlefield area. Historic downtown Franklin is a very quaint and welcoming place to visit and walk through. Americana at it's finest.

Downtown Franklin is a neat place to spend some time and some money. There are many interesting shops and restaurants on the main drag. We stopped into several which were exactly what we expected. But then we found some that were really different and unusual, which got not only our attention, but some of our money as well. I admit... More
