I rode on this train several years ago and it was pulled by a diesel engine. This time the train was pulled by a steam locomotive. Had some very good photo ops.The conductor gave a very informative narration and kept us entertained with his jokes.

The museum houses the place where you buy tickets for the train ride. Whilst I wouldn’t make a special trip to see the museum as it’s fairly limited, it’s easy to wander around if you have a spare 10 to 15 minutes before getting on...More

Beautiful fall afternoon trip along the Hiawasee River. I would recommend this 3 hour adventure. We we in the observation car, which proved to have better views than the dome.

Go back in time seeing the photos and memorabilia of the Etowah railroad museum in its hey day. Small museum, small town with a few restaurants. Check out the new distillary while you're there!

We arrived early for our Hiwassee all day train ride, so meandered through the museum for 'something to take up time'. How happy we were that we explored! There are many exhibits pertaining to the railroad industry, but also some from the time periods. They...More

To get our tickets for the Copperhill Special we had to stop at the station for the tickets. Interesting info on the local town. Wouldn't have gone to museum if it hadn't been for the train ride which was outstanding!

Depends on the train-some do and some don't open. I would check with individual train agent.
