We visited the Cemetery after visiting the Battlefields. This truly brought home the extent of the fight that these young people had experienced. The sun was just rising, the fog on the mountians was just lifting and the flags at half mass for the murders...More

How can anyone not want to visit this sacred place of remembrance. It's the second largest national cemetery and simply beautiful, restful, and a solemn place to remember those who have sacrificed for our country.

Stunning views and maintained beautifully by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The American Flag waving with a smaller POW/MIA next to it was stirring.

This was a personal visit but i do recommend passing through as the cemetery has an atmosphere of peace . It is very orderley as would be expected with graves going back to the civil war and all conflicts since.

I was at Chattanooga national for several hours logging graves. The grounds are well kept and the workers busy at maintaining the grounds. The grounds blend in the local landscape of stone in various spots in the cemetery. Civil war soldiers who fought in near...More
