    Beautiful quaint urban park
This is a nice park at the north end of the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge. Check out all the unusual animals on the beautiful antique carousel and ride it if you’re young at heart! There’s a fountain/spray park with stone carved animals the kids can climb on. Nearby shops include ice cream, coffee, souvenir and cafes. The weekend we were there, the world disc dog competition was being held. A lovely green space!

    The kids love this place!
You can make a big hit with the little ones on a small budget. For the price of public parking you can enjoy the amenities of downtown Chattanooga. Splash pad was free. It can get crowded on hot days but we still had plenty of room. We packed a picnic lunch and found a picnic table in the shade, I think the carousel only cost a dollar or two a ride. Public restrooms close by to change out of wet clothes.

    The heart of Chattanooga.
When visiting Chattanooga make sure to stop here. They have an old time merry-go-round to ride. Outside is a dancing water park. You can also take a walk down the river. This place is also located right next to Frazier Street with quaint shops and a variety of restaurants.

Great park with views of the Tennessee river, bridges, and downtown Chattanooga. Walking paths meander around the park through grass lawns and woods. There's even an indoor carousel and a weird rhinoceros sculpture. What's up with that? Check out the shops and restaurants on Frazier Ave which is adjacent to the park.

Thankfully, it was a nice day and we could enjoy the park. It has nice views of the river and city, there are several paved paths to walk and enjoy the day. Nice and open area and some shops close by. The parking is convenient and all affordable.

We thoroughly enjoy the park and the carousel was amazing. The lady running the carouse was a sweet soul with a kind smile. She was well versed in the history of the carousel. As we found all over the city, it is a pat to park location but the parking area is large. We found plenty of convenient places to park for a reasonable price. Be warned, paying one lot does not allow you to park in another lot.

To anyone thinking this may be a nice place for a stroll with your furry friend, no dogs are allowed in the park. You will not know this until you’re being yelled at, as if you’re some kind of delinquent, by a “security” guard because there are no signs telling you as much. Hopefully this saves you the irritation I experienced.

Coolidge Park isn’t a park in the “playground park” sense. They have a beautiful green area - a nice thing in a big city but don’t expect any playground equipment. They had what appeared to be a great indoor carousel but closed for the virus.

Well maintained, clean riverside park with sweeping lawns. Felt very safe with many families fishing or playing on the green. The carousel is closed and the water fountains are turned off for the time being. I understand, but it's still disappointing. A fountain would have made our visit on an extremely hot day perfect. There are a few ice cream food trucks parked by the entrance which was a nice touch.

We walked around the park. Be warned the park pay is no joke and NOT transferable. We thought our ticket would work from a nearby park and pay that we still had a lot of time left on…. NOPE cost us a $16 parking ticket. Park was beautiful and we enjoyed our stroll and the carousel even if it did cost us an extra $16.

Named after local man Charles Coolidge – not Calvin Coolidge, US president - who in WWII won a medal of honour. 7 acre park parallel to the Tennessee river, boasts a restored hand-carved carousel, pavilion, interactive play fountain featuring a stone menagerie, picnic areas, jogging paths and a blue cart-riding rhino. The view of Walnut Street Bridge is a predominant image from the park. A great visit.
