This is a pretty cool experience. It's just an incline railway up the side of the mountain. It's not spectacular or mind-blowing, but you should definitely do it. The only negative thing I experienced was the lack of communication between the ticketing counter and the train operators concerning the departure times. The train departs every 30 minutes or so, but... More

It's an ok ride, but nothing to be worried if you miss it. It's a steep hill, and that's about it. Driver was fairly bored and repeated memorized spiel with no hint of originality or care. You have to face one direction so you can really only see going downhill; going uphill you are basically sitting in reverse and you... More

If you visit Chattanooga you should definitely check out the incline railroad. It is one mile long, going straight up the mountain with beautiful scenery.

While visiting the Lookout Mountain area we did the Incline. Cool experience that I will prob. never do again (as I am afraid of heights.) We took the train to the top, I was fine most of the way until about the last 1/4 of the ride (got a little too steep for me). When the train stops and is... More

Amazing to get pulled up the side of the mountain by a cable. Great sites going up and once your at the top. A little clumsy getting into trolley, it on an incline also.

Amazing funicular. Great views and some fascinating old photos when you are up top. Great views but not a lot to do when you are up.

Thought this would be just another touristy trap attraction but was wrong. You do really get to appreciate how high up it goes. Once you are at the top, be sure to visit a Civil War memorial about 3 blocks away. Amazing views of the city and Chattanooga River.

I had rode trams but never an Incline. The pace of the tram gives you enough time to take pictures of the breathtaking views.

When we visited the fog was very thick and to the credit of the management, they told us before we bought tickets that we would be able to see nothing, and that was true. But we were able to see the things we wanted like the mechanical workings of the lift system (at least some of it), we could see... More
