We visited Appalachian Caverns on a Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones there. The tour guide was friendly. We enjoyed being able to do the crawls, and plan on going back to do the wild tour. Well worth the visit.

Went in the morning and had an enjoyable time. Interedtong to hear the history of the cave and area. Who knew the Confederate army used the cave as a hospital? Had a leisurely tour since there was body else there.

We have visited several caverns. The caverns themselves are very nice. I think more could be done to make the tours a little more interesting. The end of the tour had a twist, though. I was actually shocked to realize the guide turned the lights...More

I found my tour of this cave very different than others, We walked at our own pace and the underground river was high due to an ongoing storm. I greatly enjoyed hearing about the history of the cave which was sacred to the Cherokee and...More

Thanks for the review, yes a living cavern is much different. We experience nature with as little damage as possible so here you see the difference. Things here always will change due to weather and whatever mother nature decides to do.

We do operate year round but with only one person manning the shop unless we have things scheduled during the winter. Most caverns shut down four months a year yet here we actually have the seasons that affect the caverns in beautiful ways. Appalachian Caverns...More
