This is so strange. There are reviews for several different Lewis & Clark Visitors Centers under this listing. The featured photograph is NOT of the visitors center just south of Yankton, SD. Nor is it the visitors center near Gavins Point Dam, which is WEST of Yankton, SD.

We found this place most interesting to visit. We walked around outside before going inside. There were a lot of birds outside and a kids school trip happening inside. The teacher and the visitor center staff did a good job with the kids, was fun to watch!

We are following the LCT Coast to Coast and I expected more from this Center as there are such great centers in many places. They had nice gifts and travel information, but LCT was essentially just the outside plaques and walks. I would not go out of the way for this one.

Looks like there are a couple of different visitor centers for Lewis and Clark on TA, so I am writing about the one near Yankton, SD. Overlooking the river and Gavins Point Dam, it's in a beautiful location. It is a free attraction, so that part is nice. It has several displays, one having to do with some of the... More

The Lewis and Clark Visitor center in Nebraska City is a must see place. It gives you a history lesson about what Lewis and Clark saw and experienced. This is a place you can spend up to four hours experiencing. At first when you drive up you think this is someones house. It is a beautifully designed building that sits... More

Okay, being free I know there might not be much to expect, but it was literally a hallway with restrooms, some museum pieces from expedition, and a gift shop. Of our 3 day family trip, this stop was considered the biggest flop.

While traveling with two 15 year olds this summer we wanted them to have a blast, but learning and having an appreciation for history would be a good bonus as well. We decided that the Lewis and Clark Expedition would be an interesting subject to discover. I did a bit of researchand we decided to start at the Lewis and... More

This is a great place for anyone wanting more info. on Lewis & Clark. There is a 20 (or so) minute film you can watch about their journey & lots of books for sale if you want to learn even more. There are several things youngsters would enjoy, like a keel boat out front, a huge replica of the dog... More

This Visitor Center has been around for a number of years. It features displays outlining the trip of Lewis and Clark up the Missouri River which is right out the backdoor of this museum. It features a recreation of the river boat like they would have used at that time by the parking lot and displays inside of some of... More
