My wife and I climbed Castle Crag 14th September 2018. Quite a windy day but a small mountain to climb so easy for most people of reasonable fitness to do. As we neared the summit, there was a five foot wall to climb over with...More

The last stage of the ascent is unique - like climbing a man-made slate mountain. The view from the top is well worth the climb!

Approaching the base of this climb you could imagine it was something out of Lord of the Rings. Not a challenging climb but fascinating on the way up and a fabulous view of Borrowdale from the top. Well worth the effort.

A pleasant stroll from either Rosthwaite or Grange is worth the effort. Views down Borrowdale valley from the summit and interesting scenery along the way.
