The Great Plains Zoo offers visitors an up-close look at more than 1,000 animals, from anteaters to zebras, penguins to porcupines, and including an exciting animal collection often not found in larger zoos: tigers, snow leopards, giraffes, rhinoceros, flamingoes and a variety of primates. The Zoo also includes the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, a local treasure that houses a rare, one-in-the-world collection of 150 mounted animals, including 36 “vanishing species”.

It's all about knowing what to expect. This zoo is very nice as a small city zoo. It has a decent selection of animals in some very nice enclosures (the snow monkey exhibit is very nice). There are some parts of the zoo that can use an update and the brown bear exhibit is soon to be getting a face... More

A very nice small-city zoo, with a variety of animals. You'll enjoy it alone, on a date, with your family, with small or big kids..

We were in the area of a Baptism and decided to make our trip to Sioux Falls into a mini family vacation. We surprised our 6 kids with a visit to the zoo, they all love it. We are members at the Minnesota Zoo and we appreciated that they give a discount to MN Zoo members, it helps keep the... More

My favorite part was the Museum part and the Squirrel Monkeys. We had hoped to see the new baby Rhino and went during the time they had posted he would be available for viewing but no such luck. I would go back again but this time during the spring/summer to see if there are more animals then what we saw.

Spent a few hours here while visiting Sioux Falls. The zoo was clean and the animals had lots of space. They had run out of maps but it was easy to navigate without them. It was worth going to visit. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Our kids love to visit zoos. This zoo is certainly above average. The grounds are well kept and clean. A great stop if you have children.

We visited the zoo for the second time. It's a very nice zoo and a nice, flat walk. The Komodo dragon was cool and something you don't see often. We always enjoy the monkeys. Only saw one rhino and the giraffes were in a small fenced area. I recommend going earlier in the season. We didn't ride the train.

Very nice mid sized zoo. Their webpage says they have cheetahs but they have since been replaced with wild dogs. Other then that small disappointment it was a very nice day, nice exhibits and we really enjoyed it.
