This was a great stop on our journey through the Black Hills. If you are a fan or have even seen Dances with wolves... It is something fun to tour and there are good photo opportunities.

y wife and i decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. We were welcomed by very firendly staff and in fact had the most pleasant conversation with the owner of the business. We have been to "chuck wagon" setting prior but the show here was absolutely fabulous. Very talented and by all means, family oriented.

This is an excellent chuck wagon show. The dinner served is average but the entertainment is very good. On the site are two buildings used in the movie Dances With Wolves. There are also other old buildings, farm equipment and vehicles.

My wife and I enjoyed the bus tour of Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Park and Crazy Horse Memorial. The driver, Dan, was an excellent tour guide - informative and comical. He was also extremely competent as a bus driver. For me, there is no better way to see this portion of the Black Hills. The included breakfast and... More

This was one of the places we visited on our 9-day trip from MI to Mt. Rushmore. We were at Fort Hays for dinner and the show. I could not believe how orderly everyone was served. The food was delicious and the entertainment awesome. We had front row seats, so some of my bus travelers were part of the show.... More

My husband and I had some free time to look around Fort Hays before and after our bus tour with Mount Rushmore Tours and before the dinner show. It was fun to browse the items from the Dances with Wolves set, the gift shop, but the highlight of our day was helping make our own tin plate with Ernie in... More

Dinner is cafeteria style with a choice of chicken or meat (Beef?) Tables are picnic table style with very cramped seating. Once finished with dinner and mid-way through the show there is a brief intermission while you return your dishes and trash back to the kitchen. Really? Yes, really. Now, for the show. Some good players, but for the most... More

It was fun to see one of the sets from Dances with Wolves and to visit with the tinsmith and knife maker. The BBQ dinner was mediocre with chewy, dry biscuits, dried out chicken and a dour, unsmiling young fellow taking our tickets. The beans and spice cake were okay. The Western show was excellent. A fun assortment of songs... More

We traveled to Fort Hays and looked around at the old stage settings for 'Dances with Wolves" where we ate a cowboy breakfast and boarded a bus to take us to Mt Rushmore and Needles Hwy. So much history and beauty on the way. We then returned to Fort Hays for a cowboy dinner and show. The food was great... More
