If you like quirky, roadside attractions, then you have to see this for yourself, if only to say that you've been here and get a photo in front of "The world's only corn palace". The murals outside are impressive, if you stop to think about what really went in to the displays. The gym has displays inside also, made of... More

The Corn Palace is a must see if you are visiting or passing Mitchell, South Dakota. The are made completely of corn is impressive. There are also event that take place there during the year. My most recent trip to the Corn Palace was for a high school basketball game. I like the soft theater seats as apposed to the... More

the Corn palace reinvents itself every year. It is a unique building that I have been enamored with since the 90's. every time I see it it is different. Artwork from grain. inside there are pictures of all past building exteriors and Mitchell is tourist friendly with shops that reflect the area.

Even if it is not on your schedule, it is worth taking the time to drive by and at least check this place out from the outside. It is a bit hokey, no need to spend $$$ on the inside...the outside murals are done all in corn - - redone every year - - a lot of history and story... More

What you see in pictures is what you get. It was nice to get out of the car and stretch our legs but wasn't worth much else. At least it was free.

What a great tourist attraction! The artwork on the outside is fantastic. They have added LED lighting to the outside so at night it really very impressive. If you are in town make sure you stop by and admire this attraction. Mitchell is great place to visit on your way out to the badlands or Sturgis. The people are so... More

We were on our way to the Black Hills and made a nice little stop here at the Corn Palace. The outside is amazing to look at all the artwork done with corn and grains. The inside has interesting displays showing the history of the building and how the decoration is done. There was a basketball tournament the day we... More

This is a gem found in South Dakota. Inside there are previous years designs in pictures. Our grandchildren also enjoyed it. There were vendors inside with original crafts for sale.

We stopped by the corn palace on our way out of town after spending the night in Mitchell. We arrived late and didn't have time the night before. We went early on a Sunday morning and there were very few people around, which was nice and the palace looked like it glistened with the sun rising behind it. We just... More

If you're ever driving from Mt Rushmore to Ames, IA this is the perfect place to stop as it's equidistant between the two points. We looked at the corn mosaics, checked out the corn themed gift shop and ate some corn. I presume it also is a nice stop off while driving from Ames to Mt Rushmore but couldn't be... More
