We enjoyed walking around Deadwood and just the feel of the town. I'm surprised at people being unhappy and calling this town a tourist trap - seems to me that's what it is and always has been - it was full of casinos, bars and...More

Deadwood, Dakota Territory got its start in late 1875 with the Gold Rush.. Since the 1930's it has become the keystone place in which to experience history and that of the Black Hills and the Gold Rush era. Despite some people believing that all Deadwood...More

We come here every year for the Sturgis rally, Deadwood is our favorite. I love all the quaint shops, the casinos and just the feel of Deadwood! I love the streets and people watching!

Walked around town with my family. Not much to do if you're not a gambler. Saw Wild Bill get shot at the Number 10 saloon.

The buildings are amazing; that they are filled with so many casinos, and so much smoke, is kind of disgusting, to my way of thinking. I know that they have a special permit to have the casinos, but I wasn't enchanted by them. Still, one...More

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I found Deadwood disappointing. The history has taken a back seat to the casino's. The whole Old Town Area is a little run down. The surrounding areas are nicely done. We were looking for a place to...More
