This train ride was a huge disappointment. They must have a really good marketing team because all times were sold out. My sister and I took my niece. I was skeptical about the "scenic" train ride since it is out of Winsboro but thought it would be fun for Christmas with Santa. There were no decorations, no Christmas music, no... More

We went by on a Thursday afternoon, and was disappointed that they were only open on Saturdays. Still, they have a lot of rolling stock that is on the grounds, so we were able to take pictures. Liked what we got to see.

We bought our tickets online for an afternoon train ride in an open air car. Glad we did for two reasons. #1 the morning ride was full and #2 it was 95 degrees so the open air car was really the only option as the others are not air conditioned. The train cars they have that you can walk through... More

This small train museum has some well worn rolling stock but the all volunteer crew was very pleasant and courteous. The trip is 5 miles long (one way) with several stops along the way for historical narration. There are no restrooms aboard the train nor any food service but the trip is only about 1.5 hours long. I went on... More

We bought our tickets online and for the afternoon train. Good and bad idea. Good since the morning train was packed. Bad since it was very hot. Make sure you bring water. Our 7 year old loved exploring all the trains he could explore. One time experience and worth it. Funny part was when the conductor had to stop crossing... More

This one is great for the entire family even better if you have a picnic before, afterwards, or during the ride!

There isn't much to this museum but it is plenty interesting especially if you are a train fan. The volunteer are very friendly and very informative.

Surprised my boyfriend tonight with a trip to this museum and a dinner train ride. Before the ride we got to explore the small museum and open train cars with exhibits. Well done and appear to be no charge. Impressed with the food (salad, ravioli and pork entrees, chocolate cake and alcoholic beverages). Rode about 30-40 minutes out and the... More
