Sullivan's Island Beach was a nice beach that my wife and I enjoyed during a weekend retreat. The sand is soft and does not hurt your feet, No need for shoes on this beach. There are no amenities (chair or umbrella rentals) on the beach,...More

Parking is an absolute pain, but this is a wonderful beach. We went two mornings in a row before 10 am so our dog could run off-leash to her heart's content. We parked on the street near the lighthouse, where there's easy public access to...More

Our family loves visiting this beach. We always make a point to go when visiting Charleston. Especially great for young kids.

There is no public parking. Residential parking only. Clearly marked as Parking. Or No Parking. We ended up close to the light house spot and found the expansive beach barely attended by beach goers. Shallow waters allow you cool off for dips. Cover up with...More

We visited Folly, Sullivans, and Isle of Palms during our vacation. Sullivan's was my hands down favorite. Folly is a party tourist atmosphere. Isle of Palms is upscale exclusive, while Sullivan's is more family and slow pace. Take Ben Sawyer Blvd (Hwy 703) from Mt....More

This quiet not so crowded beach is entrenched in low country history. It is just as surreal to sit and enjoy the sites and sounds of this beach today. How fun to watch the kite surfers fishing is good here. There are sand dollars to...More

We parked along the street and entered at Station 22. There was almost no one on the beach. It was sunny and serene. The breeze made the 90 plus degree day pleasurable. It was very clean. The beach front properties are pristine and sit back...More

Spent an evening at the beach. We waited for the sun and temps to cool down. The tide was going out and left many tide pools for the really young to be happy and safe while the bigger kids hit the waves. Good clean beach...More

Some girlfriends and I went up for a weekend. In my experience, this was the best beach I've been to for just sitting/laying out/relaxing. The water was fairly calm with some gentle, smaller waves. There were so many great restaraunts off the beach. We enjoyed...More

Yes, there is free parking on some of the side streets, but you will have to walk to the beach, but it is not too far. The parking areas are marked. Be careful not to block private driveways. It was not crowded when we were... More

I have not found any but I also park at station 23 so there could be more further down. I think most people have lunch either in the middle of their trip or right before so they use the restaurants bathroom.
