Visited on our way to Paris Island. wife had read about it in a travel brochure. Happened to be when a school group was there. Saw and alligator and several nesting egrets, Had a short walk around the trail.

It's not far~ 2-3 miles away on Sands Beach. It's a nice bike ride and worthwhile. Hope this helps.

We didn't notice any in April and May and I would have been bitten if there were any! Other times of year idk.
