Beach with a boardwalk and observation tower. Beach is not sandy, but several people were laying out or setting in chairs to catch the sun. Several people fishing. We stopped on our way to Paris Island to look for birds. Did not see much, but not out of our way.

This is a very small beach with lots of broken shells on it. Unless you really need a beach fix, don't go out of your way.

I was happy to discover the Sands beach area. The reason for the visit was for our m/c riding group to take in another attraction. So riding over wasn't about swimming, surfing or boating it was about the boardwalk the observation tower and the view. I believe a lot of effort was put into making this a nice place for... More

On a trip to Beaufort County for my nephew's Marine Corps boot camp graduation, my boyfriend and I took the opportunity to enjoy the Sands during some down time from the celebrations. I am a dedicated shell seeker, and this small strip of beach did not disappoint. While the beach itself is not very big, it's got a ton of... More

Love visiting this area to watch the dolphins play but it is not a area I would want to get in the water

Okay beach if you want to walk around looking for broken mostly seashells. They say you can find sharks teeth but I didn't look and imagine it is hard. Not pretty and sharp shells and ugly black area by the shore. You can drive on the beach which is a plus and there were young people in dunebuggies and so... More

This beach is unique as you will see there is a ton of shells and no smooth sand, which makes it a little tough to walk on barefooted. People come here to look for shark teeth and black or brown tiny pieces of glass. You will also see some fishermen and a few boats pass by. An observation tower is... More

Whether it's low or high tide, the sands beach is a great place to go and just chill out. There is a tower on the beach that most people like to go and climb the stairwell all the way to the top. The view up there is very nice and you can see the bridge from it.

If you're looking for a quaint and eclectic fishing/beach spot, this is it! If you REALLY want a treat, watch the sunrise from the sands. It is awe inspiring!

Nice find. The beach is quite small, but the locals were the best. The folks were so nice and helpful. I was instructed how to find shark teeth by the locals. Watched dolphins swimming close to shore. Talked with some of the friendly locals and felt like talking with friends. Great way to spend a couple hours or a day.
