Nice beach

Even in October, this was a busy place; with fishermen, strollers, and dog walkers. Walk the board walk and climb the tower for a view. Plenty of parking available

I am a traveling Ob/Gyn (drcathylbagleydotcom) who visits Port Royal's Sands Beach on a regular basis in between travels. Tranquil, beautiful and off the beaten path this beach with amenities: open and covered fishing pier, boardwalk, marshtrail and observation deck begs me not to reveal it's hidden treasures to visitors! Selfishly, I'd love to oblige keeping it one of many... More

We will enjoy the boardwalk and observation deck. Talk to a lovely couple who told us all about their efforts to catch blue crab and showed us their catch so far. Stopped by the beach but did not stay long. It's very tiny but hope to go back another day to look for sharks teeth.

I come here often. It's a nice local beach. You can find sharks teeth and shells. Only swim at high tide. It clears my head, it's peaceful. You can see the dolphins and walk to the tower. Amazing view! Boat dock and walking trail! Bring water shoes and always check the ties!

I basically grew up in this area and we never swam or even went to close to the water as kids. Now I love to take my son when we're in town. It's not crowded, it's mostly locals, there's a fishing pier oh and you can see the dolphins playing and swimming.

Don't expect a nice beach. There are some areas you can lay out, get a tan, and enjoy being on the water, but most of the shore is oyster shells. Perfect place to put your boat in, and there is a really nice boardwalk with a 5-story viewing tower (which could be worth the trip in itself)

The Sands is actually in North Forest Beach in Hilton Head. It was a nice place except for the fact that we were on 3rd floor and there was no elevator. Lugging up a heavy suitcase 3 flights of stairs sucks lol The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable and the furniture was nice. The pool wasn't crowded, we... More

Let's start with the "beach" you can drive your vehicle on it. You need shoes to go in the water. You suction to the sand. It smells fishy. There were a lot of shells- many were stuck together. Small waves. We didn't stay long. While we were there, we did get to see dolphins which was neat. We also saw... More

We visited as we were already in Port Royal to visit the Low Country Estuarium. We walked the beach area which is full of oyster shells and no other nice shells if you are a beach comber. You can see Parris Island from this point. I would NOT recommend it as a beach day for family with swimming but good... More

We are in Beaufort South Carolina for the first weekend in August 2016. Today we went to Sands Beach to look for sharks teeth.... we found a few small ones. I liked being able to park the car right on the sand and walk the small beach. There's a wooden walkway along the water, with a lookout tower with great... More
