At Barefoot Resort, Pete Dye set out to create something that would linger in the golfer's mind forever.Bordering the natural white sands of the Carolina Bays, this visually stunning design is filled with the infamous pitfalls for wayward shots that have become synonymous with the Dye name. Both beautiful and treacherous, the Dye Course is an experience you won't soon forget. The Dye Course is the only semi-private facility at Barefoot Resort.Pete Dye upholds his reputation of building memorable and challenging golf courses by creating a stunning design filled with his infamous pitfalls to capture errant shots. However, if played from the appropriate set of tees, players of all abilities will be able to navigate the Dye Course. The course is a Par 72, 7,343-yard layout within a gated community on exclusive real only on the exterior perimeter of the property.Pete Dye is famous for his use of native grasses. The fairways are GN-1 Bermuda grass, a hybrid developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approaches are Tifdwarf Bermudagrass, the greens are newly acquired Champion UltraDwarf and the dramatic visual effects are achieved by the Centipede and Zoysia grass roughs.

Barefoot resort offers four spectacular courses of which the Dye course is ,in my mind the best. Beautiful layout, challenging holes tough greens and well maintained throughout, there is something here for all levels of golf. The Fazio course is somewhat easier and has the same level of care as the Dye course. Worth a visit.

Have played this course several times now and really enjoy the experience. Beautiful layout, tough to score, very friendly staff. If you want to challenge the best course in Myrtle Beach, this is on everyone's shirt list to play.

Brought a group of 47 to Barefoot in November. While I was waiting in the Golf Shop to have bag tickets counted out (why wasn't this done in advance?) guys were being rushed to carts by bag drop staff - their reason 'course fully booked' and we had to get out as early as possible. Players were sent to first... More

Played here on our last game of trip. The group really enjoyed it,very pretty, challenging but there were some birdies out there. We had a nice day. Very nice young fella sent us out and was there at the end. Had a great chat with him and off we went. Worth playing!

One of the top three golf facilities in the Strand, no doubt. Entire staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Golf course is very fair yet demanding and always in great shape.

I played the Dye course at Barefoot Resort twice last week. I played a few days after Hurricane Matthew. Traps were still wet and they were still cleaning downed trees and other debris. They had the course in great shape for such a short time after the hurricane. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. The Dye course is... More

A beautiful links course. Very challenging for the long hitter. Once I realized strategic placement was the way to go, I reduced my back nine score by 14 strokes! Do whatever it takes to avoid the sand!! The grounds are amazing and the pace of the game was perfect. No rushed feeling. Frequent drink cart. The club inside is beautiful... More

The course is fantastic! The service not so great. No water cart like on the other Barefoot courses. Such a great course, but go elsewhere to eat as the restaurant couldn't be worse.

This isn't a reflection on the course, but one place to warn people against sinking $600+ into playing in the Myrtle Beach WorldAm. The final, championship, round is played here. Sadly, so many flight winners are disqualified for playing 'too well' (!), that the playoff becomes a contest of also-rans versus players who learned to work the system by playing... More
