WOW, your Charleston tax dollars at work. A huge, beautiful new building, two huge parking lots, 19 historic fire trucks and as many employees as visitors when we were there. Interesting and informative. Take an hour out of your schedule to visit this museum. You won't be disappointed!

Brought my 3 and 6 year old boys for about an hour. The kids loved designing their own fire badge sticker. The fire truck simulation was their favorite, as was the slide and fire pole. I was glad they watched the fire safety video. I also found the where fires start in the house very educational. As an adult I... More

My soon to be husband is a retired firefighter. We visited the North Charleston Fire Museum and Educational Center together. Over the last few years, we have visited several other fire museums (Denver, Boston, etc.). We felt the Fire Museum in North Charleston was very well organized and informative. It is the most educational exhibit we have visited to date.... More

I was here, for the first time, for a nephews birthday party. The room for the party was sufficient for a large crowd and had very nice kitchen facilities. The tour of the museum was much more then I expected. Although this is not a huge building, there is so much to see inside. Very pleasant experience

Future, current, and former firefighters will of course love this place. There's some old beauties. History nerds may dig the old apparatus as well. It's a great place to kill some time before you fly out of Charleston. It's about 10 min from the airport. Museum takes about 30 min-1 hour to tour. Check out the details on those old... More

We took our whole family, ages 2-60 to this museum. Our two year old grandson LOVED it, slid down a fire pole, an indoor slide multiple times, climbed a ladder, watched videos, and was especially enamored with the live action simulation driving of a fire truck. This museum is beautifully done. Worth the drive and highly recommend!

On behalf of our family of firefighter paramedics, a big thanks for this museum. We loved seeing the historic trucks, my 13 year old had a blast being a kid trying out the activities including the simulator, and we were all impressed with how well done the safety and educational aspects of this museum have been done. Well worth it... More

This museum is a must see for families with young children! The museum has a beautiful collection of restored fire tucks from every era all the way back to the 1800s. Plus there is a simulator, great information for learning and a slide!

This is a delight to all firefighters, especially those who have actually used some of the antiquated equipment that’s on display. The restoration and attention to detail of these apparatus and equipment, is absolutely incredible. Their attention to detail goes right down to, something that most people wouldn’t even notice, the period tires. A visit to this museum is well... More
