The Carolina Waterman is a local nonprofit organization which organized for the purpose of offering free waterman programs to Horry County Residents. In order to help fund our mission we self generate funds by charging non-residents for one of a kind waterman experiences around Myrtle Beach. Whether you are looking for a calm and relaxing tour of our Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge or interested in a gnarly day of learning how to surf in Myrtle Beach... The Carolina Waterman is the place for you. By supporting the Carolina Waterman you are supporting the growth of a healthy and responsible "waterman" community along the Grand Strand. This fall the Carolina Waterman will be launching a FREE local after school waterman program for a limited number of Horry County 9th Graders. Please follow the Carolina Waterman, share our stoke, and come out for an unforgettable experience!

First time paddle-boarder here! My friend and I had such a good time. Trent and Meghan made me feel relaxed and safe. and are so kind and knowledgeable - not only about paddle boarding, but of the area ecosystem, as well. (Great workout, too!)

This is a great family adventure. Trent and Meghan are both very friendly and do a great job showing the nature in the intercostal waterways. If you want to experience a fun non tourist excursion then this is it.

Trent and Meghan were great guides. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the ecosystem, paddling, and responsible stewardship of the area. It was a lovely break away from the commercial side of Myrtle Beach.

That really depends on personal preference! Our favorite time for lessons is usually 2 hours before - 2 hours after the high tide. Mornings usually have calmer winds and nicer weather though! Mornings for sure!

We chose 10am start time. The temperature in Myrtle beach this time of the year is less than 80 before noon, and gets hotter (feels 85-95) later in the afternoon. Given that you are from Wisconsin, 10am slot may be better... More
