If you only see one show... this is the one! "Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach" according to CNBC! The Carolina Opry has won every major South Carolina tourism award including Most Outstanding Attraction and the prestigious Governor's Cup. And it's the only show that has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CNN, TNN, and USA Today, which called it "A Big Hit". The New York Post called it "A Hot Ticket".Entertainer and entrepreneur Calvin Gilmore launched The Carolina Opry on South Carolina's Grand Strand in 1986. His live music variety show features a cast of 36 of the nation's top singers, dancers, comedians and musicians in its own 2200-seat show palace with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and three giant video screens. The show, which is continually updated with new music and comedy, is two hours of high energy entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock 'n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel.Young and old are counted among its fans who are sure to include a performance in their visit to Myrtle Beach. In November and December the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland where the magic of the season comes alive in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special a wonderfully dazzling, jolly and sentimental musical celebration of America's best-loved holiday..

This was the first time that I had attended a show at The Carolina Opry. I had been to the Alabama Theatre the night before so seeing the shows back to back may have swayed my opinion. There were 6 songs that repeated between the...More

We went to the Thunder & Light Show with "ALL THAT" and believe me people, they are worth going to see. I was amazed at the talent that these young gentlemen have to be able to perform like they do. I first saw these guys...More

A review of this show won't help much as tomorrow night is the last night of the summer season. The Christmas show starts on Monday November 2 though and the Carolina Opry always puts on a good show.

The Carolina Opry is a variety show. Actually, multiple shows are offered at this theatre with the main TCO show being weighted towards country music with great musicians and singers. Dancers and comedians round out the evening. On other nights the "Time Warp" show emphasizes...More

The first half of the show mostly included songs we had never heard before. The second half was classic country which we enjoyed. The comedy was go but parts was very corny. Our group enjoyed the show.

Great show! Singers were great, but I thought the band, cloggers, and that comic stole the show. There was a great mix of music. The lead guitarist is phenomenal. Would have loved to hear him cut loose on a couple more Clapton tunes. I wasn't...More

What a fabulous show that included excellent singing, music selection, electric dancing by All That, a laser show. You get your money's worth with this two hour show with an intermission. Very professional presentation.

Yes but they request you limit the flash photography to a minimum to keep the cast focused on their performance. The gift shop does sell dvds, SD cards and cds of the performance.

Both sets of seats are on opposite ends of row 1. So you will have a side ways view of the stage. I have never preferred front row unless it is a concert where you can stand, sing and gyrate. Not so in this theater. Seats... More
