If you only see one show... this is the one! "Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach" according to CNBC! The Carolina Opry has won every major South Carolina tourism award including Most Outstanding Attraction and the prestigious Governor's Cup. And it's the only show that has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CNN, TNN, and USA Today, which called it "A Big Hit". The New York Post called it "A Hot Ticket".Entertainer and entrepreneur Calvin Gilmore launched The Carolina Opry on South Carolina's Grand Strand in 1986. His live music variety show features a cast of 36 of the nation's top singers, dancers, comedians and musicians in its own 2200-seat show palace with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and three giant video screens. The show, which is continually updated with new music and comedy, is two hours of high energy entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock 'n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel.Young and old are counted among its fans who are sure to include a performance in their visit to Myrtle Beach. In November and December the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland where the magic of the season comes alive in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special a wonderfully dazzling, jolly and sentimental musical celebration of America's best-loved holiday..

We went to the Christmas special. This was our second visit, and the first was 5 years ago. Like last time, it was fantastic. We both loved it. There was comedy, dancing, singing, big band style music, a little opera, and show performances. The dancers (Tap Dancing) are simple amazing! The room was at capacity, which was the same last... My friends and I took advantage of a deal going on in January and we purchased tickets to the Time Warp. The evening was fun and had a lot of oldies but goodies and some music that I wasn't fond of during those years-but, a lot of songs and music that had me in a warp back to that time.... More

We really enjoyed the show. It is a variety show with country music, popular music, dancing, live music and comedy and fine for all ages. It has been in MB for years and this was the 2nd time I visited; this time as a local and received $8 off each admission.

If you want a different Christmas season experience during the holiday take a trip to Myrtle to see the Christmas Show. There is no bad seat in the house but if you have more than yourself going you better book early so you can sit together.

Over a period of about 15 years entertaining clients in New York, Branson, Nashville, Miami, Las Vegas, & Los Angeles I've seen a lot of shows: musicals, revue shows, concerts, magicians, ventriloquists, and even the occasional hypnotist and juggler. I can tell you without any doubt, I've seldom spent a more pleasant (or more reasonably priced) evening than I did... More

I came down to Myrtle for a long weekend, and was so glad that "An Evening of Magic" was happening at the same time. The show was astounding! Both of the magicians were extremely talented, funny, and downright entertaining. In one of my previous visits to the same theatre, I'd had the pleasure of seeing these same performers in "Thunder... We went for their Christmas show and it was incredible! We had family of all ages from 11yrs old to 66yrs old and everyone enjoyed this show, I would definitely recommend it. Seating is great, we sat just outside of orchestra seating and it was great, seats were much less money yet view was excellent. Go, you won't be disappointed!

Got to see the Wagsters in An Evening of Magic, talk about being blown away! The show was entertaining from start to finish. I can only hope there will be more because I'm ready to come back and see more magic!

We saw Five Irish Tenors and it was just amazing. This was the first show of their three months tour in the U.S. If you are near where they are performing, you should try to catch the show. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend it

We loved this show and were very impressed with the quality and professionalism. Excellent music and comedy. Very entertaining. We plan to return during warmer weather and see the regular show.
