Live entertainment on the lawn of the DoubleTree made the pier an ideal location for picking up bug spray, cold beer and ice cream. Location, location, location.

This pier was in walking distance of our hotel. They have a restaurant so I would go and get breakfast or snacks during our walk on the beach. They also have a small shop/gift store. Pier may be underconstruction now due to hurricane last summer.

There is not much left of what you see in this picture. The Springmaid Resort was bought out by The DoubleTree Resort last Fall (2016).

Unfortunately, this pier was completely destroyed by last year's Hurricane and there is nothing left of it. No word yet on if it will be rebuilt.
