Loved this park, including the old Huntington residence despite its condition. Lots of history here. Heard comments about how awful it is, but you have to use some imagination and not set expectations based on the Biltmore (which is what we were hearing). They created...More

Nice place, camping available, lots of BEACH, clean changing area close to the beach, not usually too crowded: must pay to enter, or have a SC park pass

Stopped in for a hike around the park. Very low-key, at least in January. Has a small gift shop, signage for trails could be better, but finally found the Sandpiper trail, ~ 2 mis. Nice day and hike around Sandpiper Pond. Would come back again

As an annual pass holder, we like going to Hunnington because we can take Maxwell, our King Charles Spaniel. Good access with bathrooms close by. Can be crowded during peak season but off season is great for private beach access.

Made my first visit to this state park today, with temps in the high 60s in January. Long story short -- I loved it and recommend checking it out. We got there early, before 11:00 AM, which made entering the park relatively fast. Later in...More

mercifully - after 3.5 miles of walking, a clean bathroom and a snack bar for refreshments--- if you prefer to drive into this lovely state park, the fee is nominal and camping is available for modest fee. the beach is simply lovely - pristine and...More

This park is beautiful and well maintained. We took a guided tour of Atalaya. The Ranger was interesting and knowledgeable. We had a nice hike and went out on a beautiful if somewhat chilly beach.

Had a great time learning about Huntington Beach Park. Mike the park ranger was very knowledgable. The 2 hour 2.5 mile through the park was just what I needed to get more exercise in 2017. Nice attends. Thanks to the park system for doing this...More

We stoped here in our way home from brookgreen gardens and fell in love with this place. It is well worth the money you pay to get in. We only spent a short time here but it looks like you can plan several days of...More

What a delightful surprise, just 15 minutes from Garden City. Totally worth $5 entry fee to access stunning beach. Beach was nearly empty (Boxing Day) even though campground seemed fairly full. Excellent gift shop with locally made items at reasonable prices. Would definitely revisit and...More

Most of the sites are far away from trash area. Pump out is outside campground area. We have stayed in many sites. None of them are bad.

No camping on the beach but the sites are under a 1/2 mile to the ocean. Enjoy.
