We really love this beach.. It is clean, smooth sand beach. It was not at all crowded. We spend time in the water, building sand castles and looking for shells. Great family time.

Which is the best picnic shelter to reserve close to the ocean but not a long walking distance from the parking area? Looking at a small wedding in September and need a location for older guest to sit for a short ceremony in the sand prior to the event.

There are nice covered picnic tables near the boardwalk that leads to the beach from the parking lot. Not a long walk!!
What is the temp like in mid-april? Is it warm enough for the kids to enjoy swimming? Would they burn by the sun at that time of year?

The water was cold my kids got wet but it was too cold to swim. We did get some sun though so yea you can still get a burn.
can you just go there and walk around even though you are not camping?
