We spent a couple of hours here while we were visiting Murrell's Inlet. The beach is beautiful with soft white sand. We were there late afternoon but it was not crowded. The park seems very well maintained.

Less crowded, beautiful beach. The trails are cool. Marshes are full of wildlife. Saw alligators on the trail and in the water. REALLY liked the Atalaya house...really cool self guided viewing

Almost never crowded, except for major summer holidays. Beautiful clean beach, lots of shady picnic spots, a creepy castle to explore (really!), nice restrooms, and a souvenir store that sells cold drinks. It's practically perfect!

I hate to tell people about Huntington Beach, because, except for a few days in the summer, it's rarely crowded....and I don't want it to be! The beach is beautiful, and the drive over the marsh to get to the beach and campground is a...More

According to the park rangers they are separate from the guests in the marshland. We were worried about that too but never seen one on the beach. The beach is like a mile from the marshland separated by a strip of land. I... More

The alligators can be seen anytime, they particularly like to 'sun' themselves out on the tiny island. A good location for viewing is on the overlook.
