Took a walk around the grounds. Very pretty and cool on a warm day. Love the different varieties of plant life and saw many different types of birds. The visitor center had many beautiful items for sale.

This is a relaxing stroll aroung the grounds by the Cooper River. The tour to the monks' church is worth attending. Especially nice if you just want to relax with Nature and/or pray.

Mepkin Abbey is a beautiful venue in an out-of-the-way area of Berkeley County. It is serene and has beautiful gardens, a gift shop, chapels and is the home of area Monks. You have to visit to really capture all that this site has to offer.
