This was our 3rd trip! I went for a field trip with my students one day and couldn't wait to come back with my husband. We came back for the Christmas candlelight tour and it was awesome! Today we went for the hog butchering. Husband really liked that and we both love the property. We did a couple of the... More

We love their gift shop, and always go there when I'm in York. We haven't done much walking through their many walking trails. No dogs are allowed due to their own animals on the property. Christmas is my favorite time of year at Brattonsville. Their website covers the details of their seasonal events.

Went to this Plantation as part of a school trip; the history of the Bratton family's involvement in the Revolutionary War is interesting and there are plenty of historic structures to explore on the self guided tour. The interpreters were really knowledgeable!

I enjoyed my visit to Historic Brattonsville. The area is quite large, there are numerous buildings and houses, plus a nice welcome center and gift shop. Plenty of parking too. The volunteers in their period clothing toil at the crafts that were well needed in the days of this town. Cooking, planting, harvesting, leather making, building skills, and more are... More

Interesting place and a whole lot of walking. No one works on Sunday who can talk about the plantation and no one in period dress. It was a self-guided tour of the planation and buildings.

Saw the Civil War Reenactment as well as attending the Christmas lights walk. Wonderful story tellers, interesting history, and a fun way to make new friends!

Brattonsville is not somewhere you are likely to stumble upon unless you're really looking hard to find your way there, but with that in mind, if you like to check out historic places, it could be worth a stop if you're out and about looking for something to do one afternoon. We happened by one day when they were attempting... More

The site of an important revolutionary battle, this museum is actually many buildings, some moved to the site and some surviving in place, that basically give the history of the plantation that it sits on. Many heritage animals and plants on the site. This museum is not interactive. A lot of walking and stair climbing, not for persons with walking... More

If you are in the area of Rock Hill, South Carolina, take an hour or two to walk this beautifully kept historic property. We were lucky enough to end up there on a weekend when there were battle re-enactments, vendors displaying related wares, musicians playing, and interpretive staff providing explanations of the events. The grounds are expansive and the buildings... More

This last weekend we went to see a reenactment of the revolutionary war battle . Many old houses, slave buildings, farm animals. Walking trails etc. It was very hot and humid, but a nice day trip. Any visit would be interesting , but the various reenactments are very informative and interesting. Go on their web site for a calandra of... More
