Dolphins and More was just right for us

Went fishing with a few friends. We all have deep sea experience and have fished our whole lives. We went 12 mi out to an artificial reef which is fine- the issue was is that the crew wouldn't anchor the boat in any spot so your bait would hit bottom, you'd get a few bites and then nothing. By then... More

We went fishing on a five hour fishing trip aboard the Drifter and had a great time! The mate and captain were helpful and very nice. They helped my kids bait their hooks as well as take fish off when they caught them. We fished at a reef about five miles out that was made up of old barges and... More

We really wanted to take our kids on a dolphin watch but we didn't want to spend $60/person. Some of the $60 per person ones seems to offer deep instruction of the area/wildlife/etc. Well, we didn't think our 4 year old needed that. After finding several that were much more affordable, we settled on the Gypsy Dolphins & More excursion... More

Captain Dave took my family and i out for a morning of fishing on the hobo. My kids had the best time. We caught 2 baby sharks and a fish. He was great with the children, even let my 9 year drive the boat. We saw dolphins a few times as well. I would definately use them again. It was... More

this place should not call itself deep sea fishing. that is very misleading. what it truly is, its a place to take your kids ages 10 and under to go learn what a fishing rod looks like, and how to place bait on the hook. The boat we went on has a nauseating smell, that smells like a blend of... More

It's cool for kids who want to drop a hook with bait in the water and wait for a bite...but that's all it is. It's more of a glorified boat ride that smells like diesel and old cabbage. You go out to an area for like 15-20 min, drop the weight + hook in the water, wait around, and then... More

Like many we opted for the Drifter as a first 'deep sea fishing' experience for my teenage son and I. With two of us a charter seemed crazy expensive and looking at reviews, the Drifter seemed like a way to have the experience without the huge cost. After 4.5 hours without catching a single thing, obviously we wished we'd paid... More

We saw 2 dolphins, captain was complaining the whole time about previous customers. I think they were more concern on saving gas, we maybe went 1/2 mile out and turn. My son feel asleep. If you have never been on a boat or seen a dolphin, then maybe. We were very disappointed with the money and time we wasted

Our five-year old son has been looking forward to going on a fishing boat while in Hilton Head, so we were looking for an excursion that would cater to those with little-to-no fishing experience. The Drifter's kids cruise was perfect for just this! For two adults and a child, it only cost about $75, and the Gypsy had plenty of... More

We took our 6 yo daughter on the kids cruise, and it was awesome!! She caught 4 baby sharks and someone else caught a hammerhead! Every kid on our cruise caught at least 1 baby shark. We were so lucky! You can't blame the company if you don't catch anything. They can't help that. The two teenage mates on the... More
