We hoped to visit this preserve while vacationing on Hilton Head, but it's gate was shut and the padlocked with a "closed" sign. The preserve was badly damaged in Hurricane Matthew. It's not clear when or whether it will open again.

Stopped in only to check it out from the car. Natural park with trails. This would be a fun attraction in the off season when it is not so hot.

Tucked off Palmetto Road is a lovely secluded nature walk. All kinds of native plants are well marked for identification and birds chirping in the towering pines. Our group was lucky to have Jack, one of the caretakers, along for our morning walk. He was...More

Lovely nature preserve mid island offering a quiet respite from the more congested areas of HH. Worth an hour to stroll their paths and sit by the pond. No charge.
