This was a great tour. I went hoping to learn more about Gullah history and I did! Would recommend this tour for sure. Irvin was an entertaining and well informed guide!

Besides getting and in depth and personal education about this rich culture, our guide Irvin gave us an enthusiastic history lesson of the region and the current influences of Hilton Head, way beyond the tourist's general impression. So worth the time and money...don't miss it!

Mel was our tour guide. This family-owned business goes deep into the Gullah culture with tour guides who are part of the culture itself. Mel shared many personal stories that made the tour that much more special. Take some time to poke in the museum...More

Reserved a tour and the guide never showed. We phoned but he didn't pick up. Left a message and it was returned the next day. Sad way to run a business.

It would be okay. There are opportunities to get out and walk around along the tour.

Hope this answer not too late! Recommend car rental or taxi to go to starting point. Tour led by older member of Gullah community on mini van bus. Excellent and no fluff.
