In addition to the Greenville history their rotating exhibits are outstanding. If you are in Greenville this is the place to spend a few hours being educated and entertained.

This museum is a bit small, takes about an hour to visit (could spread it out a bit if you like) but is well done. The museum gives a good overview of South Carolina and the upcountry and in addition offers some limited time displays...More

Came for the Dinosaur - Family Fun Day and was disappointed. The place looks great but the cost and some of the people that worked that weren’t great at all. We scavenger hunted for bones and for small children they were not in good places...More

Went to see the "Picturing Nam" exhibition, the U.S. Military Photography of the Vietnam War from the National Archives. Although some of the photos were very good and gripping in their presentation, I was very disappointed at the limited number and the fact that many...More

We visited this summer and really enjoyed the fairytale special feature! My 8 year old daughter had so much fun in the exhibit and we both enjoyed the local history lesson we got in the museum.

The upcountry history museum included many exhibits of north western South Carolina history. I found the disagreement between the coastal government and the upcountry citizens in the late 1700s fascinating. Other exhibits included settlement, civil war, reconstruction, industrialization, religion, and civil rights. Great place to...More

This is a great place to learn about the upcountry. I never knew ... (you'll have to go to learn your secret bit of history!) First, start with the brief introductory movie. It provides a background for your museum visit. Start the exhibits to the...More

The Upcountry History Museum is a small museum located next to the Children's museum & the Greenville County Art Museum that manages several displays a year. They also have featured lunch & learns to supplement the exhibit in house.

The parking is right behind the building, not far from the entrance. I can't say for sure about the handicap parking. I would presume there is a requirement for a couple of spaces, though.
