Four of us took Ms. Dottie's tour this morning and it was truly a joy and a learning experience. She is a native of the island and did an incredible job of sharing her obvious love of the island and her incredible knowledge of the history and lore of the island. The driving tour is great for people that don't... More

Our 2 1/2 hour Van tour of Edisto Island was fascinating, going back to the 1600s. I could listen to Mrs Thomas' sweet southern voice all day. She was raised on the island & her dad had been the Postmaster. We really enjoyed going inside the Presbyterian Church & cemetery, along with having a break of delightful lemonade & benne... More

Ditto to all the good things written about Miss Dottie's tours. We even ran about a half hour over time and she kept right on. I think we were able to go places not open to the public. Don't miss this if you have time.

Dottie was raised in Edisto and she was so gracious and did a private tour of a few plantations and churches/graveyards. We enjoyed everything about the tour and her knowledge. She had also baked us benne seed cookies and lemonade. Delicious it was a pleasurable tour.

We had visited Edisto before without learning much about the island. Decided to take a tour with Dottie. So glad we did. We learned so much about the island's history. Dottie was very knowlegable and informative and taught us so much. She even served us lemonade and Benne Wafers made by her and they were so good. It was a... More

Wanting to know more of this beautiful stretch of Carolina coast, we were advised to call the lady who is a part of this genteel culture. Dottie greeted us as familiar friends. Quaintly soft -spoken and very knowledgeable about her island, we rode comfortably through shaded dirt roads to plantations that held many secrets, many of which Dottie knew and... More

Dottie has lived most of her life in Edisto, so she has seen everything grow, and how the people have tries to keep the island simple. As for the time and money, i can think of no better way to have spent it. GREAT JOB

We enjoyed this tour very much and learned a lot about Edisto Island in two hours. Our tour guide took us by van to the Presbyterian Church (the oldest congregation in S.C.) and took us inside the beautiful building. She shared interesting stories about the church and people buried in the graveyard. She also told us the history of several... More

Ms. Dottie is great! She grew up on the island and knows her history. We went to several plantations and churches and listened to great stories the whole time. Both of our kids (10 and 6 yr old boys) really enjoyed the tour. Don't miss this one

We just loved the tour Miss Dottie gave us of the island. Her knowledge of the history, her sweet disposition, and her love of sharing made our tour with her just special. Take this tour early in your stay on Edisto so that you can go visit (or revisit) places she points out and speaks of during your tour. Her... More
