The museum is small and you could easily miss it. It features many historical photos of the people and settlements on Edisto Island. The focus is on plantation life prior to and after the civil war. The gift shop has unique items for sale.

We’ve been coming to Edisto for over 10 years and this was the first time we went to the museum. The gift shop is lovely and I bought lots items. The history relics are fantastic.

Small but very well done museum. Will take at least 2 hours if you like to read - so don't just blow it off. Did not realize there was more than one kind of cotton. Special children's area. Adding to their collection all the time....More

I have to confess, I lived on the island 10 years before visiting the museum. What a mistake! I now volunteer as a docent a few hours a month. People are always surprised at how long they stay.

I enjoyed this museum so much! There are items that belonged to the people and places that we learned about on the tours that we took. Well worth the time and money.

I thought the museum offered a nice range of exhibits. There were definitely exhibits from the local area, plantations from Edisto Island, and other cultural and historical items. The fee was well worth it.
