The state park, like all of the beach at Edisto, is pristine. The staff at the front gate were very friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms/changing rooms are a little old and could use some updating but are certainly serviceable. The Environmental Learning Center is wonderful! Excellent exhibits and most are hands-on and kid friendly. My 4 and 6 yr old... More

Edisto Beach charges out of state people $809.08 for 2 weeks of camping. We found this campground a few years ago through the New York Times travel section when they were trying to get people to come there for camping. The price was reasonable. They have doubled their prices & you still have go outside of the park from the... More

Nice beach, but small park that is not very well maintained. People pay $10 to park here and go to the beach. There were several people who appeared to be living on picnic tables there. I won't be going back.

Enjoyed a day at the beach here at the state park. Although not my first time at Edisto, it was my first time at the park. The beach area is nice with plenty of room to spread out and not be right on top of others. The park has bathroom facilities and showers. No lifeguards. $5 per person entering the... More

Beautiful state park! We camped for two nights at the Live Oak campground, site 96. Every site looked beautiful and was quite private. The camp host was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hiking trails and the beach. The Beach Campground was closed for repairs, I assumed because of the Oct 2016 hurricane. We will definitely go back.

We stopped by today, couldn't swim because it was too cool and windy but really enjoyed walking on the beach and seeing the ocean. It is clean here, both the park with restrooms, tables and grills and the beach with lots of beautiful sand and coastline. We walked a lot, saw jelly fish washed up, and pelicans flying low over... This South Carolina State Park is found on one of the Sea Islands south of Charleston. It has quite a variety of activities to keep visitors busy. There is a shady campground, about 8 miles of walking/biking trails from various environments including the marsh, the maritime forest, the hardwood forest, etc. There is also is a beach area which currently... What a nice beach ... Near Charleston without the crowds. About a 45 min or so ride south through beautiful country roads. Well worth the drive. A real nice beach to go for a long walk. Great clean sand to walk on. Pretty dunes and be achy scenery. They are doing some reconstruction to the beaches due to last Octobers... More

Nice clean park and very friendly rangers on duty. Beach was great. The week we visited it was cold and windy but we enjoyed it anyway with picnic lunches by the water's edge. Don't miss out on the 7 miles of walking trails by the campgrounds and do visit the learning center. Very interesting and educational for adults and children.

Great shells with an easy access. They were starting refurbishing of the beach while we were there due to the hurricane but we were able to still access
