We really enjoyed our visit at the Edisto Island Serpentarium. This is a reptile museum with snakes of all kinds - venomous and non-venomous, as well as alligators and crocodiles. The Snake show was amazing. We were there when 3 school buses of children were there and that added to the excitement. After the snake show, all were allowed to... More

We attended the snake show--I would highly recommend seeing this. The snake handler did a fantastic job explaining the differences between venomous and non-venomous snakes, and she had snakes on stage with her to show and tell about each one of them. The little kids (under 5 yrs. old) had trouble sitting still through the program. We were allowed to... More

We have visited the serpentarium several times, but it keeps getting better. They snake exhibit is excellent. I enjoy how well they maintain the facilities.

Lots of live snakes behind glass and also in their outdoor habitats. (Gators and turtles too!) We enjoyed the scheduled program in the amphitheater where Anne handled 6 venomous and non-venomous snakes. Very educational for school-age kids as well as adults. Well cared for facility with nice gift shop. Military and senior discounts too!

Spend the day photographing the exhibits, taking in talks/lectures, tours. Learn about the local "serpents" in the area and South Carolina.

We stopped in on our way to a boat excursion. It was a little pricey for what it was, but still very fun and educational. We sat through a 20 min or so show and tell on venomous vs nonvenomous snakes. The speaker was great and very knowledgeable. After, the girls were allowed to hold a boa, which was pretty... More

We came in without any knowledge about what to expect, and were ready for "side-of-highway-experience". We were wrong. Reptiles are living and shown in proper environment. The tour is educationally rich and is a great show at the same time. It has something for a family with children, and for trained biologist. For the visit, keep in mind that it... More

If you think it looks too small or plain from the road, do not be deceived. You can spend well over an hour here taking in all the animals & they give 1/2 hour educational talks every couple hours. Go on a warm sunny day so the animals are more active - the snakes & turtles were fun to see... More

My kids dragged me here, and I was glad they did. The educational show was great. If you like wildlife at all you should go.

This place was clean, well maintained and very educational. Great for quieter visit after too much beach time or just for an interesting outing.
