We stayed this past weekend for 2 nights..the campground was clean..and our site was awesome. The lake was our backyard and amazing. The rangers are so helpful and the host is as well. The host offers firewood for $6 a bundle. They sell ice at ranger station and a soda machine sits outside of the building. Did a lot of... More

We wanted a safe place to take our Austrian Shepherd for her first camping trip. The park is safe and the other campers were friendly. No swimming, but the lake is good for fishing and canoes/kayaks. It was a terrific weekend get-away!

By state park standards, this one is not too bad. It does not have much in way of amenities and the views of the lake are a bit limited (just really one access, you cannot go around the lake unless you go through the thick part of the woods). But, hey it's cheap, it's remote, it's clean so I recommend... More

I would have rated this a 4, but the kids actually want to come back and camp (they liked playing with the lizards in the park plus viewing tiny frogs at the Beaver Dam trail). It is probably the most remote SC state park from where we live, so it's kind of unlikely we'll return, but the hiking trail was... More

I have to start off by saying I'm a big fan of our state parks...so I'm a little biased. We camped here for a weekend in our 5th wheel. The campground is adjacent to the lake providing for some beautiful camping spots. Ours was site 23. It was easy to get into and level. Some spots are a little tight... More

Whenever I need a place to relax. This is a place where I go to leave my stress. I is wonderful. My wife and I made a visit this past weekend and we met others from other places. It is really an awesome place, a well kept secret.

My husband and I discovered this gem late this past summer. We have visited 5 times since September and have two more visits planned. We recently could not come for a weekend stay due to scheduling and thought we would have to forfeit our payment. Not only were we able to reschedule our reservation, but Ranger Rowdy personally called us... More

This is a beautiful campground with some very pretty sites directly on the lake. Our original booking was for one of the primitive sites and upon our arrival it was A LOT smaller than expected (Room for maybe a tent but not nearly enough for a tent and 2 vehicles). After talking to the park ranger he allowed us to... More
