The river carved this area into hills and bluffs. Great for hiking and it has varied plant life for the midlands. If you hike or run there, be alert for mountain bikers...frequently they do not call out to warn you they are coming.

It always feels like such an unexpected get away place. It's close in to so much and yet you feel like you've escaped once you start your peaceful walk (or bike ride or jog; whatever you choose).

My wife and I enjoyed the beautiful weather in the state forest. Had a picnic lunch and relaxed in the outdoors. Nice to know the state takes such wonderful care of their natural resources.

Same answer as James B, it is a State Forest, not a park. Yes there is a parking fee $5.00 for the day. There is also canoe/kayak landing. check out the info on their website.
